“ We tried this restaurant for the first time while visiting Houston. It has a nice ambiance and our server was very friendly too. We started with their chai old fashioned, which was not bad. It was a nice twist on the traditional old fashioned drink. It's made with Amrut Indian whiskey. For appetizers, we tried their Raj Katori and Pani puri. I enjoyed both. They were delicious. We also ordered their vegetable Thai which came with saag, paneer tikka masala, and some karela with yogurt and naan. We also tried their chicken tikka masala with chicken Briyani. Food was good. It wasn't the best I had in terms of flavoring but the presentation and service was very good. Their chai was my favorite. Apparently it's their own unique blend. For dessert, they gave us one complimentary cake since we were celebrating a special occasion and we also ordered their Panchamrit dessert which our server recommended because it's different than the traditional ras malai. You can see photos of the food below. Getting wet towels at the end to clean your hands was definitely a nice touch. You don't even get that a Michelin star Musaafer Indian restaurant and no complimentary dessert either. These small touches did enhance our dinner experience. Our bill was almost $250 for everything below. ”
“ I was trying to show my girlfriend what Indian food was all about for the first time. And I think Kiran's did too good of a job. She loved it so much she won't stop eating Indian food. These days, sometimes I just crave some Raising Cane's or something, but I have to settle for Tikka Masala. Good Job turning my life flavorful Kiran's!! I hate you!!! ”
“ Amazing food, ambiance & service. Highly recommend! This was our first time at this location. We came for Valentine's Day lunch at Friday at noon. The restaurant is very spacious. It wasn't busy when we came but slowly started filling up. We shared a South Indian plate & a North Indian thali. Everything was delicious! Portion size is just right for 1-2 people with both plates. Price wise the menu is expensive but considering the food, ambiance, and service it's worth it! Thier bathrooms have hand lotion with hand soap, giving it a luxurious experience. We'll be back! ”
“ Good friend of mine recommended this place, I was excited to try it and added it to my "check it out" list. It wasn't until my birthday and the generosity of some of the best people I can call friends, Jason D & Lyndsey, made reservations to celebrate my day of birth. Parking is a mix of valet, street and parking garage. I opted for valet as I was already running a bit late (it was $9) The entry is swanky and posh, would return for happy hour to sit at the bar. The friendly waitress walks me over to the table and I admire the cozy interior. Immediately upon sitting Jason hands me the cocktail menu and zero in on the Chai Old Fashioned, Jason and I opt for that while Lyndsey ordered the Nolet 75, Kiran's version of French 75. It had a smooth yet bold flavor with a Smokey chai finish. On the food, we did family style and from what we ordered was enough for the 3 of us. The calamari was chewy and rubbery, not my favorite (one of the reasons for removing a star). Butter chicken was smooth and would've liked a bit more kick as I am use to it having a bit more heat. Jason would've wanted extra heat. I would get it again and perhaps ask if they can service it spicy. I was a bit daring and tried the Lamb Biryani and glad I did. It was flavorful and had spice kick, not heat. Would still get it again. Naan was also ordered, The Lasooni had garlic taste like the traditional naan. Also had Peshwari that was sweet and was a good almost dessert like treat. It had almonds, cashews, pistachios, and rose syrup. To finish off my birthday celebration, we had the Swarg, (heaven) it was sorbet, crème and some pearls. It wasn't overly sweet and light. We shared it amongst the three of us and feel it was a good way to end the night. Learned that they have Afternoon tea on Fridays and Saturdays. Would like to come check that out. I enjoyed the experience and would recommend making reservations and also since the place is a bit more upscale, do dress the part. The portions aren't huge and from the feedback I got, both from my friend who recommended the place and my dinner mates, it i ”
“ Nothing is more satisfying than marking off an item on a list. Okay, there might be many more satisfying things, but a dent is a dent. Working through my list of places to eat makes me happy. Our good friend Jose L. just recently celebrated his youth, and we were fortunate enough to acquire his company on the day of his birthday. He chose this spot, that just happened to be on the aforementioned "list". It's upscale, and fancy. Very well put together. There is limited street parking, with 3hr max times around Levy Park. They do have a free garage, and valet for those not looking for a fuss. Maria was our waitperson, and she did a fantastic job. Very pleasant, knowledgeable, and timely. There was a group waiting for seating in the reception area, but we had reserved ahead, and we had no wait time. They have a decent sized wine menu, and (separately) a good-sized cocktail menu. Jose and I opted for a Chai Old Fashioned. I highly suggest they rebrand that to a Fashionably Mature Chai, but that's just me. It was classically well balanced with a smokey chai. I enjoyed it. Could it be a bit boozier and harsher for me, yes. Does it need to be, no. My Lady ordered Nolet's 75, their spin on a French 75. Very tasty and came with a raspberry resting at the bottom. I love my gin, and the flavors mixed very well. We went family style on the foods. Calamari - Flavorful, but a little too chewy, and a little less crispy than we would have liked. The spices mixed well, it just didn't have the texture to make it great. Butter Chicken - This was delicious. It was flavorful, the chicken was tender, and it was a smooth balanced mix. For me, it was a little more spiced, than buttery. It had no heat, for those concerned with tolerance. I prefer heat, but not all dishes are hot inclusive. You will not be disappointed regardless of your preference. The flavor is there. Lamb Biryani - Very flavorful as well with a mix of all the things. My dining companions described a slight "kick," I do not concur. We also have vastly different heat tolerances. Flavorful and spiced, yes. Heat, no. This was also a less oily Biryani than to what I am accustomed. I am used to mixing it, once it arrives, this came relatively well mixed and wasn't as heavy as most version of the dish I am used to having. Particularly good. Naan - This stuffed, which is a bit different than I am accustomed to. The Lasooni is your more traditional garlic Naan. We also ordered the Peshwari that has almonds, cashews, pistachio, rose syrup. It was a sweeter bread that went well after the mains were relatively devoured. Swarg - This came from the dessert menu, and we did so for Jose's birthday. This was a tasty layering of sorbet, crème, and some other accessory sweets sprinkled about. It was VERY tasty, and light. Served in a wine glass, it is made for one, but for a shared post dinner sweet, it's just right. Overall a very good experience! It's on the pricier side. The quantity is not large, so you're mainly paying for the experience and quality over quantity. Service is spectacular. And it's a beautifully put together place. Definitely come for business, special occasions and fancy dinners. You won't be disappointed! ”
“ I am very "junior" with Indian food, so I was excited to try some new dishes during our work team Christmas party. The food at Kiran's was delicious. There was nothing I did not enjoy. From the appetizers to dessert, it was a great meal. The service was really good, the staff was attentive, welcoming and made lots of suggestion to help our party make sections. One of the servers really went into detail to help me pick dessert (pictured). And it did not disappoint. We had a private room with two large tables, holds about 20 people. There was nice music playing the lighting was perfect. Not too light or dim. Overall I had a great time at Kiran's. I shall return soon. ”
“ Came for a corporate event and ordered chicken tikka, spinach, a tomato spice tasted cottage cheese dish, yellow lentils, lamb shank, seafood curry and five different types of pizzas. I'd say the cottage cheese dishes are extremely delicious, but not so much on the meat side. I really enjoyed the tomato paste cottage cheese dish (sad I forgot the name), and I'd come back again and order that again. It's cottage cheese cut into cube shape, fried and covered in sweet and spicy sauce. It almost had an Asian twist to it. Dessert is mid - I got the shredded carrot cake with pistachio kulfi. I've had better kulfi for sure. But overall it's not bad. For drinks I ordered sweet lassi and I also tried their salty lassi - both are good and refreshing ”
